MY MAET Product Showcase
Throughout my experience in the MAET Program I have focused on improving my teaching practice by considering how best to present a lesson, activity, or project to my students. To achieve this, I have always focused on the balance that must exist between pedagogy, content, and technology, similar to this philosophies developer, Professor Punya Mishra (TPACK). The artifacts provided on this page serve as examples of the growth in that process. In addition, please view my pedagogical creed to read my thoughts on the necessity of creating a classroom with diverse activities.

Self-Directed Professional development
In this self-directed professional development plan during my internship year I looked at finding a forum for students to provide feedback and create a discussion outside of class. Though this assignment is not very detailed I have included it to show how much my thought process has changed and grown in depth since I have started the program. I do not believe there to be great balance of pedagogy, content, and technology.

Internship Portfolio ArtifactsSimilar to the self-directed professional development, my portfolio from my internship year is full of good thought when it comes to pedagogy and content. However, there is very little room in my assignments to consider technology. Due to the limitations and restrictions of my internship placement, it is clear why some of these choices were made. However, in my current teaching setting the same restrictions do not exist and hopefully the change of thought process is evident as this showcase continues.

Exploring key topicsA key part to the growth of designing lessons with pedagogy, content, and technology in mind is being up to date on the educational research that exists. One of the greatest areas of growth I have seen in my practice is the consideration of the information provided on the subject. Through the program we considered Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as well as other topics of educational research. Through proper documentation, considering different learning levels, and providing detailed content we created a learning platform that is organized in a format that all can learn about this aspect of educational practice. To learn more about UDL please click on the button to view our group's website.

Understanding UnderstandingAfter considering pedagogy, content, and technology for a lesson, a teacher must also consider how individuals learn. This should always be a key piece in your consideration when developing assignments. In this project my group considered a general question and tried to analyze how students understand the topic. Most specifically, considering this aspect of a student allows you to consider their learning history prior to their entrance to your class. As a teacher in a school with half the students coming from our middle school and half coming from a wide geographic range, this is a very important piece to consider.
