This course was a transfer from my internship year. As a part of the internship we participated in six credits of classes each semester and nine credits of professional experience at our placement. As a continuation of TE 801, this course focused on preparing us for our role in the professional teaching community. In addition, there was a specific focus on learning about student diversity in a school setting. Some major assignments in this course included a student case study and a self-directed professional development plan that identified areas of growth in our teaching and aspects of student diversity.
Student Diversity Case Study
In this case study I studied the effects of students that did not complete their homework on a consistent basis, however still scored a passing grade on the test. I attempted to find the reason for this gap and how it could be improved in my classroom.
Self-Directed Professional Development Plan
A self-directed professional development plan that looked to use technology more effectively in the classroom. In this assignment I created a log of the research I contemplated during the professional development period and my plan of implementing technology into the class. In addition, the second PDF is a reflection of my professional development experience.
